Welcome to FTATech!
This is your independent home for FTA hobby support.  We don't have any sponsors or ties to manufacturers.  Here, you'll find a small community of dedicated hobbyists and testers.  In addition to FTA files and support, we have forums for general computer support, IPTV, and file sharing.  We have streamlined our look and replaced vBulletin with SMF.  This was done to create a more secure forum as well as to help keep the site running during peak traffic times.  It is suggested that you download the FTATech toolbar as a means of recieving updates in your browser as soon as they become available.  The toolbar is hosted by Conduit, which makes its revenue from search hits rather than spybots, browser hijackers, or other malware.  That means you have no reason to worry about adverse activities on your computer.  It works in Linux, Windows, and Mac operating systems.  Click the image below to download.

You may have seen sites popping up that are taking pre-orders for the Sonicview Majic Board (also called the IKS Killer). Be advised that none of these items have shipped, nor is there a projected date when they are supposed to. Anyone who is offering a pre-order is taking your money for what, at the moment, is vaporware.

You have been warned.

The project was launched a few months ago, but the FTA Wiki is ready to roll.  If you have any knowledge of anything of interest to the community, please contribute.  Some articles have been lifted from wikipedia with language added that would not be allowed there.  Others have been lifted from the forums.

In particular, I'm trying to create a "lyngsat" that everyone can edit.  This is probably the most ambitious of all of the projects.  These...

The Full MAP EMU is in place but it doesn't mean zero down times. This is a New Timer added to MAP 3C which is causing brief freezing. The solution for the New Timer is found and files are being worked on. They will be released upon completion. Timer values for Mapcall(s) can still be changed or modified by the provider. The Full MAP EMU includes all known Mapcalls, at which it is now that all Mapcalls are all known. The known Timers for Maps are also all included. New Timer values will...

So many people have been asking variations of the following questions:

1) What is N3?
2) Why do channels on BEV keep going down? Where are the PPV?
3) When is there going to be a fix?
4) Do I need to re-point my dish? Where?
5) When will Dish Network go down?
6) Should I buy a receiver or wait?

So here is the most concise answer I have given thus far:

What is N3? When will there be a fix?

You're not supposed to...

November is here and the Nagra 3 transition is in full swing on Bev. It's no surprise that Charlie is next and the channels will start dropping as early as this week. Starting with the least watched, or subscribed to, finishing up with the rest as the year comes to an end. While this is going to be a real bummer for some of you, most of you know how this works and are going to patiently wait out the storm. As the weeks come and channels drop like the Bush approval rating, we will see...
