Welcome to FTATech!

This is your independent home for FTA hobby support.  We don't have any sponsors or ties to manufacturers.  Here, you'll find a small community of dedicated hobbyists and testers.  In addition to FTA files and support, we have forums for general computer support, IPTV, and file sharing.  We have streamlined our look and replaced vBulletin with SMF.  This was done to create a more secure forum as well as to help keep the site running during peak traffic times.  It is suggested that you download the FTATech toolbar as a means of recieving updates in your browser as soon as they become available.  The toolbar is hosted by Conduit, which makes its revenue from search hits rather than spybots, browser hijackers, or other malware.  That means you have no reason to worry about adverse activities on your computer.  It works in Linux, Windows, and Mac operating systems.  Click the image below to download.

IKS files have been posted and the forums have been cleaned up.  I still do not believe that IKS is the future of testing.  However, it is the present.  Until the stand-alone N3 bin is released, it is the new reality.  Use IKS at your own risk.  But if you choose to go that route, the tools are here for you to do so.

The proposed site changes have been put on hold due to issues I am encountering with incorporating the SMF forum into Dolphin.  I really ...... Read More

By now the word has spread across the internet and satellite forums alike that the N2 stream has finally come to an end. The N2 FTA hack was born on Sept 1st, 2005. It was first seen to be true by those who owned the Coolsat receivers. Back then Coolsat was king while Viewsat was still getting out of diapers. None the less, the N2 release spread like wild fire through the FTA community and before long all brands of that time had ...... Read More

Coders released a "dongle" solution for SV iHub applications and N3 today.  Don't be fooled.  It is nothing more than a nice name for IKS.  It is just as dangerous and you might as well put a sign on your home to invite scrutiny.  Use at your own RISK and know that the risk is increased.

FTATech is pleased to announce three new themes for you to choose from.  When the site had to be rebuilt, I added some additional hacks and themes. You can choose your theme from the theme chooser block on the bottom left of the home page.

Helios Multi TP: the old default theme.  All of you should be familiar with it if you joined this site in the last year.

SMF Default Core: the choice for people who don't like the dark background and ...... Read More

krisbarteo is a spammer that has been registering on dozens of high-traffic SMF-based sites.  Except that he's not just any spammer, he's a bona-fide hacker.  His method consists of registering on an SMF site with a malicious code embedded in his avatar that modifies the php scripts.  The php scripts are basically the visible part of the forum, while the database is where everything posted to the forum is kept.  As of now, the exploit does not appear to affect the ...... LONDON, ON, Feb. 11 /CNW/ - On February 10th, 2009 the London Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Federal Enforcement Section executed a search warrant at a business in The Town of Aylmer and as a result seized a number of items associated to commercial level satellite television piracy. This investigation is part of Project ODOWN, a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) led project to combat Satellite piracy.

Also during this investigation, another search warrant was ...... Read More
